IIT Online Student Responsibilities

Please read through this document carefully. Accessing the course videos implies that you have read and understood your responsibilities as an IIT Online student.

Instructions

1. IIT Online course videos are only viewable on a computer using RealPlayer®. You should verify that your computer is appropriate for viewing streaming video and that you are using the recommended software version (see technical requirements). The recommendations may change so please check and verify them each semester.

To verify your computer's readiness to access the lectures, please try one of the samples available on the demo page. Technical questions should be directed to the IIT Support Desk.

2. IIT Online course videos are accessed only via Blackboard (login via myIIT). In Blackboard, click on the IIT Online tab from the left menu of the course site. A chart is provided with links to the course videos (camera icons), and any accompanying .PDF file. There may be multiple videos (available through the camera icons) for each lecture. Each is usually about 1 hour, 30 minutes in duration.


Click the camera icons to play the lectures in the IIT Online tab.

Once the video is selected, you will be prompted for a username and password. You must use your UID as the username and your CWID as the password. Even if you have changed your password in Blackboard or myIIT, you will still need to use your CWID as the password for the lectures.

3. If you have just registered at IIT for the first time or have just made changes to your course schedule, it may take 24 hours for all records to be completed and databases updated. Please try to log-on again during the next business day.

4. It is your responsibility to be ready to access all of the media provided for the first week of class, and each week thereafter. It is your responsibility to contact the Support Desk as soon as you experience any technical problems so they can be resolved quickly and completely.

5. The lecture videos are made available 24-48 hours after the live lecture is held. All lectures and course materials will be removed from IIT servers on the Friday after final exam week.
