System Requirements

A Pentium-III class computer with a minimum of 256MB of system RAM is required to view IIT Online Internet lectures. While a 56Kbps dial-up connection is supported, a Cable or DSL broadband Internet is strongly recommended for optimal video playback.

Software Requirements - RealPlayer

RealPlayer® is required to access IIT Online Internet lectures. We recommend RealPlayer 10.5. If you do not have RealPlayer installed, you may download version 10.5 from the RealNetworks site.

Attention Windows Vista and Internet Explorer 7 users: Review compatibility issues and recommended solutions for RealPlayer and Blackboard on Vista and/or IE 7.

To check the version of RealPlayer after it is installed, start it and go to Help -> About RealPlayer.

RealPlayer updating instructions

RealPlayer may prompt you to update the software to a newer version. At this time, IIT Online does not recommend that you update your software until we have fully tested newer versions and update the recommended player version on this page.

Software Requirements - Adobe Reader

The free Adobe Reader® is required to access IIT Online Internet materials. If you do not have Adobe Reader, download it from Adobe.com.
